The Grandest Dream of All

by Nancy L. Meek ©2001
Oh, if here on this Earth
our hearts were filled
With the meaning of it all
How dull indeed
would be our journey
until our last footfall

There would be no mystery
No dreams left
yet to dream
No separation
of Heaven from Earth
No visions left unseen

Our unclean bodies
could not appreciate
knowing Heaven's love
Alas, our souls are trapped
in limited vessels
until we meet our God above

How much grander it will be
standing naked
in purest Light
unashamed effervescence
no longer fraught
with human fright

Sorrounded by choirs of angels
singing praises
before God's throne
Hallelujahs resounding
for our souls set free
in our final journey home
